Third: Come to a practice or two! Participate to see if you like rugby. Last: Register with USA Rugby, our governing body. This is required for you to play in games. USAR provides insurance in case you get hurt. This will cost around $60, but that covers you for the whole year. You need:
We also charge $75 for dues each semester in order to pay for travel, referees, trainers, socials, and tournaments; and we have a required clothing kit that can be purchased on our World Rugby Shop store. If you need help paying for dues and registration, don't hesitate to talk to our executive board. Cost should never be a barrier. |
High School Seniors/Incoming FreshmanFirst: Contact our executive board and YSU Club Sports. Let us know ahead of time so that we can give you information about our $2,000 Rugby Housing Scholarship. We have limited awards, so contact us right away.
Second: Apply to YSU (if you haven't already). YSU has over 115 undergraduate degree programs, over 80 graduate degree programs, and awards over $8 million in scholarships annually. Third: Once you're accepted to YSU, apply for our scholarship and commit to the program. As a scholarship recipient, you have some responsibilities, but they are not burdensome.
We will also send you the link to our World Rugby Shop store to buy our required clothing kit and a document with a suggested workout plan for over the summer. YSU Women's Rugby is a great opportunity to learn to play and continue to play rugby in a competitive league, with a driven group of women, while attending an accredited and affordable institution. |
